Volunteer Organisations
Voluntary organisations achieve their aims through a wide range of activities, such as providing services or other forms of direct support that is often delivered through volunteers, for example, sports clubs, youth and social groups, food banks or operating charity shops. Some aim to achieve long-term or systemic change, whilst many provide services to the community.
Working for a voluntary organisation is likely to suit you if you enjoy working with people. Having experience of volunteering and especially managing volunteers will stand you in good stead. Voluntary organisations can be very rewarding and great fun to work for as they are usually very social workplaces. Be aware though that working hours are often flexible and anti-social hours are more likely to be required than other areas in the VCFSE sector.
