Community Organisations
Community Organisations are charities that deliver their work predominately through their staff team, examples of this could be hospices, charities working with disabilities, or charities supporting particular groups. They all share a common goal to help people within their community. They address social need and, in doing so, they may gain influence over issues concerning their welfare.
Working for a community organisation is likely to suit you if your personal values align with those of the charity. They offer an immense sense of achievement from the work you will be doing and the social value that you can add to your community is of great benefit. Be aware that often community organisations will put you in contact with vulnerable people and so can be challenging places to work.
