VCFSE Alliance Director (Part-Time, Hybrid)
£45,000–£50,000 pro rata | 21–30 hours/week | 12-month contract (with potential extension)

The Hertfordshire and West Essex Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) Alliance is looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to take on the role of Alliance Director. This role is at the heart of driving meaningful change in the region’s health and care system, ensuring the VCFSE sector is embedded in decision-making and service design across the Integrated Care System (ICS). Working closely with the Steering Group, Alliance members, and statutory partners, the Director will lead on strategy, stakeholder engagement, capacity building, and communications to maximise the sector’s influence and impact.

Key responsibilities include coordinating VCFSE involvement in ICS workstreams, developing strategic plans, facilitating inclusive engagement with underrepresented groups, and supporting cross-sector collaboration. The Director will also advocate for the sector at system level, manage relationships with local authorities and funders, and oversee initiatives that empower VCFSE organisations to shape policy and services. The role requires someone who can work across complex systems with confidence, clarity, and a deep commitment to equity.

We’re seeking a senior-level professional with experience in leadership, change management, and system-wide collaboration—ideally within health, care, or the voluntary sector. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with political awareness, strategic thinking skills, and a passion for community-led approaches.
